Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students may elect to live in off-campus accommodations, as on-campus housing is not a requirement. There are two primary sources available when considering off-campus living, including University-owned apartments and the Apartment Directory. A Roommate Matching Service is available to help pair students who are looking for roommates.

If you are an undergraduate students, like all other undergradutes, you may be eligible to live in University residence hall accommodations. If you have a valid housing guarantee, visit Panther Central for more information about your housing options. Undergraduate students without guaranteed on-campus housing are placed on a waiting list and assigned accommodations based on availability. Again, contact Panther Central and they will help you determine your housing options.

Graduate Students

Graduate students may elect to live in off-campus accommodations. There are three primary sources available when considering off-campus living, including University-owned apartments and the Apartment Directory.

Additionally, for graduate students enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, the University owns and leases the Darragh Street Apartments, which are in close proximity to the School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

International Students

Housing is one of the first matters to which you will attend upon your arrival in Pittsburgh. Graduate students and visiting scholars are not eligible to live in University residence halls, and therefore, need to find off-campus accommodations.

If you are an undergraduate student, like all undergraduate students, you may be eligible to live in University residence hall accommodations. Contact Panther Central to determine if you have a housing guarantee or need to be placed on the non-guaranteed wait list.
